What the free plan actually gets you

The free plan is the whole workflow, not a stripped-down demo. You record a tab, a window, or your full screen, add a camera bubble and mic, spotlight your cursor, and drop chapter markers. When you stop, the clip uploads to your private library and a watch-in-browser link is copied to your clipboard. You can make as many recordings and as many links as you want.

The honest limits: each recording can run up to 5 minutes, clips are 720p, you get 200 MB of storage, and free recordings are kept for 30 days. Your video itself is never watermarked, but free share pages show a small 'Made with Opivv' badge on the player. That is the trade for a tool that costs nothing and never asks for a card.

When it makes sense to upgrade

Stay on free for as long as it fits. Upgrade to Pro ($5/month) when you start bumping into the limits: you need clips longer than 5 minutes, sharper 1080p or source quality, more than 200 MB of storage, or recordings that never expire.

Pro also adds the polish for shared work. It removes the share-page badge for fully unbranded links, turns on AI transcripts, summaries, and smart titles, and unlocks password-protected links, a built-in trim-and-cut editor, and viewer downloads as MP4, WebM, or GIF.
